In response to the latest news on giant felines roaming our countryside, you know the stuffed one from the 1900s that has been in the news recently some big cat guy has done an interview with the beeb. Im only putting it on here as the bit where he identifies the cat scat which to me just looks like a mouldy/hairy **** made me chuckle http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22284463

I dont know either way tbh, the logic behind why they could exist is understandable but a puma or leopard isnt exactly small, either way i would love to see one if they are. still think that scat was just a big hairy dog poo though

Yeah me and my mate where out shooting a few nights ago and we saw a strange big cat...it had a head like a lepord a tail like a lion and it had stripes on one side and spots on the other side..well i guess this kind of thing dosnt really sound uncommon and its probably been seen by numerouse locals by now..But..the stange thing about it was when it got closer it had lipstick and eyelinner on..guess it must have been a female looking for a male. Well after all its that time of year.!!

Hi everyone,

You can say what you like, and believe what you want. But I was playing golf on Wells golf clubs First hole with a society with 12 others. Being in the first fourball and one of the lads I was playing with said 'Look at the size of that!

When I looked at the top of the practice ground over the hedge about 200yds away I saw a large black cat working its way along the bottom edge of the wood. I estimated it was about 18inches high (labradorish hieght). About 3 feet long with a long sweeping tail. I have no doubt in my mind that it was a Panther or black Puma. I shouted back to the others waiting on the first tee and clubhouse and they all saw it.

It dissapeared into a gully behind the second tee, so when I got there I went to have a look armed with a 2 iron. I couldn't see anything but then realised what a **** I was( I needed at least a 5 iron to get it out of there) No joking aside I vacated that area quite quickly.

We asked in the clubhouse on the completion of our round, and the Steward said that a club member had taken a plaster cast of a huge paw print the week before and sent it of for identification.

So convinced of what I had seen had been a Panther that I reported it to the Big Cat society!!

I've seen one too!

I'm sure most people think I'm talking ******** but myself and the Mrs came face to face with a very large black cat (literally 5 yards away). We froze for what must have been 10 seconds, then it casually strolled past us. I'm convinced it was a panther/puma!

We reported it as there was a wedding happening nearby and we where as good as laughed at!

Then the following evening a bobby nearly run one over on the road that runs along side the wood we saw it in! The local paper got word of it and for the next couple of weeks there were a few other sightings (although never with any photographic/video evidence).

I can't put into words how I felt when we where 'standing off' with it, I wish i'd had the balls to try a get a photo. My mates have called me TC ever since, haha!

Of course there is a chance, but with restrictions on Zoos and circuses and private ownership of Dangerous animals seriously limited and controlled, just where are they coming from?

One off escapees will take some explaining and you would think any chance of finding a breeding partner in the wild was slim.

So, where are they, where are all the photos/movies?

Any images, still or moving have been poor to say the least or obvious fakes, and where are all the Big cats bodies, they will die naturally, or wouldn't any shooter be doing the country a big favour and making a name for himself if he actually shot one in the wild?
