Teal
Win a Day Pigeon Shooting in Hertfordshire As part of the fundraising for this years Pigeon Watch Charity - Orchid Cancer - Cosd has very generously donated two days accompanied pigeon shooting in Hertfordshire. The day is open to all Pigeon Watch members, who hold valid shooting insurance and a shotgun certificate which must be produced on the day. *NEW* 4 More Days Shooting to be won! Kindly donated by Leeds Chimp and to be taken in the Norwich area -2 days pigeon shooting and 2 evenings spent lamping rabbits. This means that there are now 6 shooting opportunities to be won!! To stand a chance of winning, you need to make a donation to the JustGiving page: https://www.justgivi...geon-Watch-2013 For each £1 donation, you will gain one raffle ticket, and two winning tickets will be drawn from all entries on 1st June at the Pigeon Watch Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot (more details and sign-up for this here). About the Day with Cosd Our permissions are based in South Hertfordshire and stretch over 5000 acres. Crops include wheat, barley and rape. Last year my shooting partner Mark and I shot over 2000 pigeons. We will watch the fields almost daily to select days where the winners will have the best chance of a good days shooting. We can shoot week-days as well as weekends, and we will give advance notice of days that are looking promising as they come up, if you can't make the day then we will wait for the next good opportunity. Our aim will be to choose a day to please you. We will try for either laid crops or stubble where the birds should decoy well, and you can take home as many shot birds as you like. All you'll need to bring is your insurance, gun and cartridges, we can provide all the equipment including hides, decoys, magnets, flappers etc. of course you are welcome to bring your own equipment if you wish. Depending on the crop and farm, we will even drive you to the hide spot in our 4x4's. We will even extend the offer to beginners and non certificate holders. We can loan you a gun and show you gun safety, how to set a hide, decoys, spot flight lines etc. for beginners, you can buy cartridges from us at cost and you can just pay for what you shoot. Of course this offer is based on raising money for a good cause - Orchid Cancer. Remember, the more tickets you buy the better your chances of winning. Whether you buy a single or multiple tickets, one thing's for sure, you all have a chance of winning! As an aside, I know a lot of people on the forum offer free days shooting, it would be great if anyone else wants to offer any number of days similar to ours to add to our two in different parts of the country. The winners could then choose to go to an area that suits them. The tickets for raffle will also apply retrospectively to all those who have already very generously made donations on the JustGiving page. aris
Will buy some! A bit contradictory though - first paragraph says you require SGC, then later you say you don't and will accept non SGC holders.
bakerboy
****** good offer and a great prize to win. Not contradictory at all when reading Cosd's offer:- "We will even extend the offer to beginners and non certificate holders. Cosd
Will buy some! A bit contradictory though - first paragraph says you require SGC, then later you say you don't and will accept non SGC holders. Apologies for the confusion. We're letting people onto our permission. If you bring a gun we want to ensure the person is legal. Non SGC holders will shoot under our supervision. Hope that clears it up.

Cosd
The tickets are for sale between now and the charity shoot, tickets will also be available to buy at the charity shoot and the draw will be done at the charity shoot too. We did this so the draw is witnessed by PW members attending the day. Cos

Electronically, or are you going to print up lots of bits of paper with names on them based on what you see in the JustGiving page?

bakerboy
This is a great prize, and I think Cosd's suggestion of someone else offering the same in a differing area is a good idea. Perhaps a shoot in the North/South and somewhere in the middle, that way we can make sure the prize is "well used". Well done Cosd Edited May 10, 2013 by bakerboy
Cosd
Right guys, your chances of winning has just increased B) Mr Leeds Chimp has kindly donated 2 days pigeon shooting and 2 evenings lamping the rabbits So that's 4 more prizes to be had These 4 days are in the Norwich area and similar rules apply. Good luck all and a massive man hug to the Chimp Guys can I just stress that we will do our absolute best to ensure the winners have a good day, but of course there are no guarantees. I have had a concern about offering shooting for the prize here but afraid in case the day turns out poor and people feel hard done by. So if anyone does want to offer more day/s for prizes then please get in touch. Teal, can you add these extra days to the original post please. Cranfield
If you can't get to the Charity Clay Shoot, this is an excellent way of trying to win a days shooting and support an excellent charity. For every £1 you donate on the Just Giving page, you get a ticket for the separate raffle for the days shooting on offer. Tickets will also be for sale on the day for these prizes. aris
Can we state a preference on where we shoot (assuming our name comes out of the hat of course)? I would prefer South Herts - mainly because I live in South Herts :-)

Dannyboy220
I know there isn't long left. But I have only just seen this page and couldn't find it again when I clicked off to donate! With only 41 donators so far I think it should be a sticky on each forum category for the last week. That way all members would see it surely?
