Hello From Hampshire

Recommended Posts

Just joined so thought I'd say hello, been shooting air rifle for a while now and have just obtained my shot gun certificate, always on the lookout for shooting land, happy to help where ever I can.

Joined Hampshire wildfowlers about a month ago, so will be finding my feet on the marsh at some point, not sure its for me yet. Happy to join up with others locally for drinks and chat.

Thanks all for the warm welcome, just in case anyone is interested I shoot clays in the woods next to Popham airfield just outside Basingstoke, if any one facies catching up sometime, or maybe just a little competition.

Likewise, there's a few of us that shoot at Fareham and lee on Solent from time to time, most are members of Langstone wildfowlers, your more than welcome to come and join us.

Hello.

I know the area since I occasionally do practical shotgun in the wood next to the clay shoot. I thought about joining the Hampshire Wildfowl but seems since I don't have any experience or a gun dog decided probably not worth doing. As for shooting land in Hampshire I'm still looking since sadly all the farms I have tried around Southampton area wont take on anymore shooters since they already have too many but good luck asking.

You don't need experience, the club will teach you. Quite a few members of Langstone don't have a dog, they arrange to go out with someone that has.

If you don't have any shooting, joining a fowling club will at least get you something, most clubs also have some sort of rough shooting available.

Give it a go, you never know, you might actually enjoy it !!

Failing that, at least it puts you in the company of other shooters who might have some land to shoot.....

I dont have a gun dog myself as yet but will at some time be getting one, and I think ill be dropping Langstone a line as well, if there are a couple of new comers it at least keeps the sport alive and car share also help with the finances if newbies are comming from the same area.
