ditchman
Well !!.....got rid of the injector "knock" got fed up reconditioning them so got 4 CAV recon units..slapped them in with new washers...drove it about and still got that ticking sound, put in new fuel lift pump, and decieded whilst i was there to put a new fuel filter in, other one was only 10mths old.....got the old lift pump out, not too bad condition...put new one in with new gasket, the did the fuel filter....took that out and saw that it had IMPLODED !!!!!!..put new one in ..drove it about.....NO TICKING....runs like a sewing machine. reckon the fuel filter had altered the diaphram pressure or sucking of the fuel and the lift arm at certain speeds was not coming into contact with the cam..hense the "tapping" sound.......hey ho infor the MOT now.... SPARKIE
seen one like that before when the owner was using bio diesel it was too thick and clogged the pores too easy forcing the pump to suck extra hard........made the filter collapse and sucked the fuel past the end cap
