Zetter
Hi All After getting my over and under I do find after a clay session my shoulder feels a bit tender. I was wondering if its worth investing in an add on recoil pad? Does anyone have any experience of these or can recommend one at all? Are they any good? Many Thanks Neil
Gordon R
It might be worth your while getting the Gel-tec pads that fit inside a skeet vest. My youngest used one after he smashed his collarbone rather badly - job sorted.
Glenshooter
(As mentionied earlier in another thread) I got the Green 14mm Recoil Pad from Recoil Systems recently for my lad who's a stick thin 19 yr old - from recommendations on here and fitted it on Fri. www.recoilsystems.com/greenpad/green.asp He shot 3 competitions at the weekend ie >300 27g SuperFast cartridges and thinks the Browning now recoils like an air rifle! I find it hard to believe it could be that effective but he thinks the pad is fantastic, with absolutely no sign of 'tenderness' from what's a lively load. Iced Tiger
I fitted a kickeez to my browning, made a world of difference to me
JohnfromUK
Before you fit a pad {which will probably either alter the length, or need wood removal), why not try some light loads? Nothing to loose by trying some.
welshwarrior
The ISIS green recoil pad and the Kick Eeze are the best IMHO. But as Gordon has said the in vest gel pads can help a lot too.
Zetter
Cheers All. I am going to carry on for a bit as is I tend to suffer I think as I have been an air rifle shooter for years and have to actually think about getting the correct stance with the shotgun as I almost automatically fall back into rifle stance with it. But there is some good supplied to have a think about. Atb Neil
matt fieldcrafter-uk
Iv bought a beartooth slip on neoprene pad , I bought it to lengthen the stock but its really good at dampening the recoil to so I bought another for my sons 12g ( he's 10 years old) and its a huge improvement . Iv also shot rifles to long and had issues with gun mount so a longer stock has improved that for me . Cheap and takes no gun adjustment . Worth a try ?
