12g 70mm load sutable for fox??

Recommended Posts

Yes but how many foxes are you going to shoot? One box will last you the rest of your life probably. That's exactly why nobody wants to stock it.

I suppose it depends on how many friends with shotguns you have :-)

Gun shops are daft. Having these esoteric items is what brings people in the door. Didn't I just read a thread where someone went in to look at their first shotgun, and walked out with half the shop? It's not like they have to keep tons in stock - a couple of boxes.

I use to use lyalvale 'max game' 42g no3 or no1 through my 12g. Now I use rc semi magnum 32g no4 through my 20g pump, I've shot more with 32g no5's than anything though which work fine out to 25/30yrds. I wouldn't worry what you've got in at sub 20yrds as even a clay load would do the job.

Guest cookoff013

According to justcartridges.com, there are several available. Cookoff13 probably loads his own though :-)

i`ve not really done that much loading beyond 36grams. my main area of focus is subs slow loads, superfast olympic shells and the odd project for friends. (24g steel for pigeons. i thin the guy is on here or airgunbbs. one of those.)

now that should be made by the factorys 24g steel for pigeons

Gambore do light steel loads for clay shooting, they got quite popular when lead started to go up a couple of years ago, i never shot any but they may be ok for decoying pigeons, quite sure they were super steel and were 28gram and 24gram and were about 25 quid a case a couple of years ago, no isea what they would be now.

Gamebore 24gm 7.5 steel are great for 25-30 yard pigeons.

that must mean my 24g #4s at 1500fps are really great on 25-30yard pigeons?

I imagine they would be very good. How much are they costing to make? I would like to give your recipe a go if you'd be kind enough to share it.
