Looks ok for the price it's a manual so will be lot better on fuel than an Auto. Take it for a run before you buy it and if it drives ok and it's got a long MOT it will probably be a good little motor. Check for any oil leaks etc get underneath and check for oil around diff and transfer box make sure you check it thoroughly. But at the end of the day if it runs ok what do you want for 900 quid. Wouldn't want to use it for long distances but if it just for carrying stuff round locally for shooting will be ideal.Good luk with your new purchase.

I just sold mine after 4 years of fun.

brill motor for the money go any where you aim it lol....

only sold it as i bought a newer Defender 90.

The one thing to check also is to see if it smokes heavy black smoke after half hour of driving it

and if it loses any power when pulling away from stop.

These suffer from the above after the engine is hot and a very easy cure is to use a blanking plate on the EGR.

Ebay have a plate that simply fits on the EGR two bolts and fitted.

This stops the recycling of **** from engine helps with power , performance and fuel.

Check out the owners club too, simply join for free ad get all the help you need with pictures to follow too.

My mate bought mine from me and he loves it.

the only thing i would say is that on the SWB I had the rear seats folded up for the extra room (dog, decoys, netting guns).

parts are cheap. Mine was for sale on here too.... :-)

The last mk 2 my brother brought drove great all the way home when I was behind the wheel (60 miles), as soon as he took over and gave it some welly it began boiling over, they are a great little car if you get a good one but your £900 buy won't be such a bargain if it starts to overheat , personally I would go to the pocuk website as somebody mentioned already and get one from an enthusiast who has looked after it, better to pay a few hundred quid more at purchase than find you have brought a boiler , I am on my 7th shogun now and absolutley love them , every time I get a slightly newer one and my latest which is a 2007 3.2 DiD elegance LWB is in my opinion every bit as good as a rangie without the need to feel like a drug dealer or somebody who sleeps with premiership footballers :-)

We have had shoguns for 20 years, and sold many pajeros. Never had a major problem with any of them. Both the 2.5, and 2.8's are very good engines, true the latter has more power but the 2.5 is more than adequate at the end of the day its a 4x4 not a race car. My father has been in the motor trade for over 30 years and the only other 4x4 he would drive is a toyota.

Brilliant 4 wheel drive system, very capable off road. Strong and reliable.
