Cornishfowler
Right guys Im at the end of my teather.... Im looking to buy my first gun, I already own a game gun so am looking for a cheap reliable Semi auto for pigeons and pests. The catch is I am left handed so must be a lefthanded auto. Please I have looked at the Hatsan but the fact it fires high means it will put off my shooting. I really need help. Thanks in advance. Animal Mother
You can't go far wrong with a Remington 1100 or a Franchi AL/48.
throdgrain
As above. Also, I'm left handed, but shoot a right handed gun no problem, have done for years.

Gunman
There's cheap and cheap and nasty ! I would not buy any unless it has a very good guarantee . Second hand you could well end up with some one else's trouble . A lot of "newish" autos are being scrapped for one reason or another ,so be careful . bostonmick
there is no such thing as cheap and reliable,in the long run its better to stretch your budget a bit and get something with a proven track record, and why does it have to be auto, there are a lot of left handed o/u out there. Thunderbird
I've had a Remy 1100 for four years now and it's great, love it. Cost me £170 and it's mint.

Thunderbird
Much as I loathe and detest the phrase I'm about to use, but it really does...wince....never miss a beat.
Animal Mother
"The Model 1100 holds the record for the most shells fired out of an autoloading shotgun without malfunction, cleaning or parts breakage with a record of over 24,000 rounds. The record was set in 1978 with a Remington model 1100 LT-20. Breaking this record has been attempted with several other models of semi-auto shotguns but has yet to be broken." Elmer Fudd 1
get a right hander and shim the stock to the left. i know lots of southpaw shooters who use right hand guns and they say that they don't notice the bolt. after all you're meant to be looking at the bird not the gun
Fib new
Same here... A friend took over my old browning s/a -he's lefthanded as well- and he doesn't notice the bolt either. Shoots very well with it! He was looking at some lefthanded auto's, but after shooting my gun he didn't see the point in a lefthanded gun. He wears glasses -can't see a cow at three yards without them- but I don't know if you have any powder problems when you shoot it without glasses... Underdog
I prefer the early Beretta autos over the latest versions or the old B80. That is if no AL48 is available :-). U.
