eccles
Don't usually post on foxes but i had to laugh last night. Went to see if i could see any foxes my mate said wanted shot. Parked the car, up the track to the top of the mountain, sat on my butt watching a bank just before dark nothing moving on rabbits. As light faded walked a bit further up to the big fields on top. Had a smoke and waited till it got a bit darker.Called and lamped for a bit nothing plenty of rabbits a few badgers no fox.Was in to minds walk the long way back or go back the way i came, Decided to go back the same way, lamped down a small long field nothing, walked on a bit further lamped down the steep mountain bingo 3 sets of cubs eyes behind and old hedge big gaps in it no fence. Put the pod down quick look with the red lamp still there,a little call on the wam and 1 came flying up the side stopped about 50y bang down it goes. Waited a few minute back on with lamp 2 set of eyes still there, another call with the wam up it came like a rocket a bit more to the left, followed it up it stopped at about 70 bang no2. waited a few min and on with the lamp other 1 had gone left about 80y call with the wam and it went further left behind hedge came out by some gorse not safe to shoot, then came right a bit then disappeared down a badger set. waited a while no sign of it coming out. Scanned for a few minutes nothing, left the rifle on track went down the slope took a few mins to find first fox bank been topped dead grass and bracken, then went to look for second found after a few mins walked back to pick the first one do you think i could find it took me a while. Just after i found it i lifted my head had my head torch on, in front mousing about a big dog fox no more than 25y and my rifle on the track. it stood there in no hurry to take off. then just walked off and through to the thick gorse . steve_b_wales
Yes Steve but i'd rather shoot Crows. Me too mate. If I could only do one type of shooting, it would be corvid control.
