my father been driving shoguns since mid 80s. he tortures them on the farm on a daily basis and the punishment they take is cruel.... he much preferred the old 2.5s and still has 1 of them. basically he drives them till they collapse then he buys another. when I bought my jeep only one choice after seeing the abuse they took..sorry can`t offer more knowledge on the mechanical side

as can anything

of course to varying degrees, thats why I said "very". I've got two friends who had Mitsubishis, both got shot of them due to the crazy cost of parts when things went wrong. One of them ended up paying more on parts than the original purchase price... most of the parts were silly things like sensors at £200 a pop.

I've got a swb 2.8, my ones an (M) reg 1994 so just shy of 20 years old and still going strong! And i do a lot of towing with it, I think there a superb motor for the little money they fetch, a couple of guys on here have said there expensive on parts which is a bit of mis information there, you can buy a complete 2.8 engine for £500 and recon gear boxes only fetch £300, the best advice I ever got was "oils cheaper than metal" keep em serviced every year and they won't let you down, there's a guy in my village with a lwb 2.8 with 280'000 miles on the clock, and thats with the original engine and gearbox, you ain't gonna get that kind of use out of a land rover fact!
