spanj
Id only spend 5k as the 10k motor in 12mths will only be worth 5k or 3.5k following that logic the £5k motor will only be worth £1.5 - 2k ................. pah ha ha ha ha would this be the model with a jap engine box and axles in? errrrrrrrrrr no ! pah ha ha ha ha
four-wheel-drive
looking at freelander now wot are they like for running cost etc I have no idea what they are like but from what people say they would seem to be much better than the old ones I do like the look of the new Freelander 2 the shape reminds me of my Jeep Cherokee XJ. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201308078195349/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/9000/model/freelander/make/land_rover/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/1/postcode/sn130qw/radius/1500?logcode=p If I had the money I would not mind one of these myself. labstaff
I was in the same situation a few months ago and I got an 08 plate Ford Ranger and still had a fair bit of change. £220 for road tax per year and I get between 31 and 35 MPG so I'm pretty pleased. Down side is the ride isn't great when its unladen, but so far its been good off road.

chrispti
Grand vitara, you can pick them up for as little as 5k. Permanent 4wd, selectable diff lock and low ratio. Edited August 24, 2013 by chrispti

chrispti
That is a lot better than I thought it would be Chrispti, what did you buy now you have sold your Jimny? A grand vitara mate, same shape as the the one in post 39.... Very pleased with it so far. Been around my farms in it, some places the jimny needed the low-ratio, the vitara passed with ease...... Being permanent 4wd helps, have yet to use the vitaras diff lock and low-ratio......
