ollie
Went for a reccy on Monday and found a Barley stubble field which looked promising for Tuesday, so asked the farmer and he said fill your boots. Got to the field on the Tuesday morning was getting the gear out of the car when another car pulled up. They had obviously been given permission too and asked could they decoy the bottom of the field which I thought was a bit cheeky. I know it is a free country and they had been given permission too, but this is not a large field (maybe 200 x 200 yards) and as far as I'm concerned it is first come first served. I was in a similar position last year when I turned up at a field to see other shooters setting up, on that occasion I moved onto another farm & had a good day. What is everyone elses thoughts on this? Anyway we said ok and put 2 hides in the field, but it wasn't working, so after a while we moved onto another place. After a couple of hours we found a wheat stubble field that had a good flightline to another field that was being cut half a mile away. We decided to set up and had a great few hours. Final bag ended up 63 Woodies, 25 ferals and 59 mixed corvids (rooks, jackdaws & a couple grey crows. My mate also shot a jackdaw with a lot of white feathers on it. Dr D
Good shooting ollie. The answer is yes. I have had the same scenario and find it as distasteful as you. Personally I wouldnt do it, but some people appear to have no problem with it.

JDog
Good day out. You did well to find the birds elsewhere. The impoliteness of other pigeon shooters, gleaned from posts on this forum, never ceases to amaze me.

I couldn't believe my ears when he said he was setting up in the field also. Rather than get into a row about it, we just agreed and then because we left they ended up getting their own way and having the field to themselves.
