Pigeons on the Maple Peas….

This crop was cut last week and the bailer has not been so there might well be a second shoot on it as there are lot of peas on the ground..

The birds have been feeding, but with all the rape and wheat being cut they have really only picked at it.

I had shot 11 when Jeff turned up and 6 more while I watched the line as I was going to put him on the next field in line with me but it would have worked against us.

So he pitched up next to me and I put a second rotary out to his left.

Shooting across the East wind made such a difference as the birds were coming up wind so this kept the shot noise from travelling down the flight line…

Picked 117 and lost 5 in the bean field opposite…

This is certainly a thinking mans game,I am reading with great interest at the moment how PW members are adapting to maximize the days sporting opportunities.

As a newbie to the sport this type of info/detail is invaluable.

Good write up and cracking bag... :good:
