Paul T
Right Gents (and Ladies) I need some more cabinet space and it will need to be suitable for scoped rifles. My options are to just buy another cheap shotgun cabinet and put a rifle (on the squiff) & shotgun in it, putting the bolt and ammo in the existing one. Or do I buy a bigger safe with an ammo compartment and sell my existing? I've found this cabinet <<linky>> which seems really good value at £149 Anyone have one of the above or have an opinion on it? Sprackles
Looks good for the price but got a lot of bad feed back
phaedra1106
Those look like the locks they put on the small cheap ammo safes :( Buy a decent one and it will outlive you!, Brattonsound and Buffalo River are very good. Work out how many guns you think you'll have, double it and get a cabinet a bit bigger as when they say 5,7,10 guns etc they mean stuck right next to each other with no room for scopes, turrets etc. etc. For an ammo safe Argos/B&Q etc. do a decent mid size one for £55 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7001026.htm Edited August 24, 2013 by phaedra1106
Gordon R
The three bolts per lock are deceptive. Get inside the locks - and you will see just how flimsy they are. As has been pointed out - they look identical to the really cheap safes - you can open with a screwdriver. I would not touch these safes with a barge pole. Webber - on here - sells far better safes. I am sure there are others.

Paul T
Thanks Gents for the comments... Ebay feedback noted as are the flimsy locks, They just looked overkill at first sight and rather like the ones in Mungler's relative's safe that got broke into. Yeah, I suspect now those big bolts are only fixed back to a thin plate. I know Brattonsound are the best, but at the end of the day I just put my guns in it and it will be hidden from view, so if I can do it a bit cheaper I will. I've got a Gunmate brand at the mo and though it's not pretty, it's very solid. I'll drop Webber a pm and see what he can come up with.
