decroyffe
Hi all, selling this for a friend, it's a Canicom 200 Electric Collar. You'll recieve a digital LCD Display handset with lanyard, collar, spare tong's and bulb. They'll come complete in original packaging and all manuals and paperwork. The handset has a LCD Display, on/off button, constant shock, frequent shock and alarm tone buttons. there's also 1-9 settings for power with + & - buttons. The handset is shower proof. The collar has a light indicator, green on, red off. it has a strong adjustable strap, which has been cut down. the strap still fits his large springer with plenty spare, it was huge and hanging all over. it's fully waterproof with changable tong's for the differant length's off your dog's coat. if used correctly these are very effective, i see New to the flock is very knowledgable and would be able to help and guide you through the use of this collar. there £160 upwards new so £100 seems fair, regards
decroyffe
Hi all, can i have some feed back on this one, what do you think about the price? is it fair?
new to the flock
decroyffe, How old is the collar, and how much use has it seen. Why is your Mate selling it, and what is the range? I dont know this make of collar. It looks like a 200 yard open field collar. All the above will have a bearing on the price, but I would say if it is in very good condition that 75 to 100 pounds is a fair price. decroyffe
thanks NTTF, It has a 200m working remote distance. the collar is about six months old. the first 2 months it had no use at all, just on the dog day to day. he used the shock buttom about six times and since then he's been using the alarm button regulary. he now has a dummy collar which he use's, so this is sat about doing nowt. i work the same shoot, all he had problems with was controlling at distance, now it's sorted. regards

decroyffe
Sorry to dash all your hope's potshot but your why off. if you had something constructive or positive to say then fine. however, cheap one liners dont cut it with me. i've no dowt you have the relavant knowlege in the line of dog training but like i said before, it's a for sale add, in the for sale section. there's already a disscusion running referance electric training collars in the relevnet section where you could have viewed your points. i'm not going to get into that one, there's a very good reason why my friend used a collar invoving personel circumstance's, so i wont tell the world. if your mind wasn't so small you'd probably understand. if you'd like to know send me a PM and i'll try to explain the best i can. regards
stevethevanman
I think a shock collar should only be used if you dog is disobedeant, and if your dog is well trained then there should be no need to have to use a shock collar. I am sure that we have all seen owners of dogs giving them a good hiding when they havent been behaving... From bending the ears, a good kick to the chest, punch in the face, whacked with a stick, face ragged side to side.................. Yep..................Ive seen them all........................funny though, never seen a collar being used.......must be the other ways that deem to be acceptable.......... stevethevanman
I know a dog owner who if the dog gets to excited and does something bad or knocks something over, she screems at the top of her voice some word from the big vocabulary of foul language, runs up to the dog and hits it maybe three times and on one occasion has kicked the dog, they dont even understand our language, give them a break. If you had a load of chinese people saying commands at you I think even you would take a wile to get into the knack of things unless you were chinese. webber
Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) Recent magazine articles have reported that the Kennel Club and I think RSPCA are about to be sucessful in having such devices banned in Britain. webber
al4x
they've been trying for years and I can't say they've got too far. I've seen both sides the collars and the professional trainers who use other methods. Collars are good in that the dog doesn't associate the owner with the punishment and careful use I've never seen a problem with them. On the other hand I've seen supposed professionals taking a stick to their dog after its run off after a hare etc. I know which one I'd choose if I had to.
