station
Hi All, Having given a friend my old rough gun as he was in need (no money) I now find myself in need of something for the new game season. I only have £800 max to spend and cannot decide between a second hand Beretta or a new Bettinsoli diamond. I shoot a 686e (mainly clays) and have found the Bettinsoli stock dimensions bang on with it being another Italian gun. So has anyone any experience with a Bettinsoli ? My thoughts are that with the new gun option I get 3 years guarantee, where as a second hand Beretta may be a bit rough at this price range and an unknown quantity. What do you think ? Cheers. billytheghillie
I had a new betty and it was a great gun for the money. Only down side is when you sell you will lose on it, but if you are planning to hang on to it, go for it! Cheers for the reply - Yeah your right about the money loss when selling a gun with a simple name rather than something more recognised. countryman
Try not to get drawn into the, its a Beretta so there for its better. Company's like Bettinsoli try a lot harder to please the customer rather than just go by there name. Chris
Shropshire_Lad
My daughter uses a Bettinsoli 20 bore, great gun. Only problem with hers is the safety needs to be guided either left or right when pushing it forward, other wise it falls into the middle of barrel selector . My best bag on the Pigeons was with this gun so I got a 20 bore Beretta, new gun but no better made as I can see. Only time will tell. atvb Paul. Archie-fox
I have a bettinisoli and it's been the best shotgun I've ever used, never fails me and it allways cleans up like new again..

Gordon R
Don't do it - you will regret it. Far better second-hand guns for sale - Beretta and Miroku.
bruno22rf
Take your time and shop around as its a buyers market. There is no reason you cannot pick up a nice quality gun in your price range that will outlast you-there are other makes to consider such as Miroku and Winchester. If you buy a well known quality gun the chances are that you will lose very little money on it when you come to sell. Don't be afraid of buying from private sellers as there are bargains around and you could get a gun checked by a smith if you are unsure. If I were in your shoes I would look around for a well cared for Winnie 101 or Browning 425.
alfa taf
I had a Bettinsoly an early one, nothing but trouble, double firing etc. Sold it , lost a lot of money. Had a number of Berettas S/A , O/U ,new and second hand, all served me well. Go for a well looked after second hand Beretta if you find one. station
Well, I've just ordered a Bettinsoli Diamond with very nice wood and MC 28" barrels. It's got 3" chambers, steel proofed and 3 yr warranty plus I have some spare Teague extended chokes that will fit. Just need to get a 100 or so cartridges through it now to get a proper feel for it. Thanks for the advice guys and hopefully it will serve me well (fingers crossed) ATB.
