AYA No4 clean up

Thought there might be a few interested in seeing some pics of a strip, clean and tidy up of a no4 I acquired from Mick some weeks back.

Strip down to the bare action, all ultrasonically cleaned in a bath of brake cleaner before being polished within an inch of it's life! Everything out hammers, firing pins the lot!

The blacked parts were reblacked by barrel browner.

Most of the metal work back together, Mick said in the advert that the wood was not nice and to be fair the wood work looked like it had been treated to a coat of fence paint! looking forward to see how much the wood has improved with the love shown to it by straightshooter1

When the wood comes back I'll do a before and after pic.

Looks good, just done my dads stock and action on his No 4. Didnt do as much work on the action as you (tidy up and regrease leaving the case hardening on) but the stock came up well. Took an age to get the original finish off it though.
