wayne916
AccuPell cant open the tin, any one else as weak as me!!! Is there a trick to opening the tin with ACCU Pell 0.22 pellets, must have passed it around the pub and no one could twist the lid, gonna have to resort to a tin opener !!! Was told to try pressing and twisting the top and bottom, NO JOY!

chrisjpainter
is it a metal tin? try some GCSE Chemistry. Heat the tin gently so the metal expands and loosens the grip. do it over a steaming kettle- just don't burn yourself! oh and wear safety goggles, steel capped boots, hard hat and high visibility jacket just in case... Blunderbuss
Lead is toxic. COSHH assessment required. Along with the PPE already mentioned, a respirator should be worn. Regular blood tests to monitor lead levels for the next decade. You may have to pay for hazardous waste removal when you inevitably drop the pellets all over the floor. Just saying...... David M
After all that, heat only the lid with a craft gun until it's only touchable with a rubber gloved hands and twist apart, or turn the tin upside down and drizzle wd40 around the lid fold and have another go with the marigolds on the next day........ If that still fails, buy another tin at your local shop and take the stuck tin back 10 minutes later saying you can't budge the lid and would rather have a refund... Kes
I have the same pellets and the tin is stiff - their tooling must be a bit naff. Perhaps we should consider suing them as it does not do what is says on the tin i.e. open. My patent method is to stick it in the jamb of a door, pull the door closed to trap it and twist with the other hand. Works every time but leaves an unusual edge to the door !!
