keg
Got caught yesterday just outside Diss 44 in a 30. Hate people speeding through my own village. Didn't notice the 30 sign which makes it worse. Copper pulled me in. Didn't try and BS him, he was ok about it. Fine is now £100. They were doing a good job as a bus drops school kids off just up the road. No excuses from me just a timely reminder to watch my speed in villages and built up areas
bruno22rf
Hat off to you ,sir, for taking it so well-my toys would normally be well thrown by now.
Mungler
I haven't been pulled over in ages - when I do get pulled over I'm going to pretend to be a Yardie. I've even been working on my street Patois, fam. From the police camera action stuff on telly, it seems that provided you are well gangsta and only have a small amount of Class B or C on you you will be on your way no problem. Alternatively you can make a break for freedom at 100 mph across 3 counties and stove in 3 police cars and you only get a modest £300 fine and a short ban from driving or a slight community order. Currently, I favour the break for freedom. Failing all else you should have tried to bung the copper - they're all at it

Nial
Didn't notice the 30 sign which makes it worse. Is that because you were busy watching the road? Were you doing an inappropriate speed for the conditions? Nial.

keg
Thanks for the replies chaps, I was concentrating on the road and It was dry and sunny but they had a point in that it's the point in the village where the kids get off the school bus so still guilty. It was where you turn of the 1066 to Garboldisham.

Salop Matt
I am in a simlar position to the OP, just awaiting to see if I did get a ticket. Doing 35-37 (according to car speedo in a 30 and only 500 yards from home. What makes it worse is theres not been a camera van there in the last 5 years and the boy racers use it as a drag race strip at night, I only called and complaind about it to the police two nights before I may of been zapped ! The camera van has been there 3-4 times a week for the last 2 weeks also since.
keg
At least you were prepared to do something about the original problem and also admit your guilt on this one. It is so easy to stray, that's why I normally use cruise control. Stupidly I didn't yesterday.
Imperfection
Thinking of speeding.Them digital road side signs which display the speed you're driving at seem to attract boy racers. There's one in Luton along Leagrave high street and at night it sometimes looks like the racing scene from Grease as they try to better each others recorded speed! keg
Should tie a camera into that so as they get max power they get snapped.

Madness
Simple rule of thumb is if it's a built up area with street lighting it's usually a 30 unless signs to say otherwise......... So they informed us on a recent speed awareness course i attended
keg
You are correct with that Madness, wasn't looking for those either. I had just turned off the main road, but that's still no excuse. Told my mother who gave me any earful. I thought this was ripe coming from someone who I had to have an argument with about stopping driving due to her poor eyesight.....
Bleeh
Look on the bright side, if this was indeed Roydon, Norfolk - I got caught doing 42 in the same place almost two years ago. I was going 60 as a I started to enter the 30, and I just let the car roll rather than breaking. It was a £80/3 pointer.
