In the news today

Yet another case of news reporters showing that they quite simply haven't got a clue about what they are writing about!:lol::lol:

Quite. An uninformed (or deliberately misleading?) media informing an uninformed general public, many of whom tend to believe everything they read in the papers or see on the TV, and then in the face of a lack of contrary information have nothing else on which to base an opinion. This is what we're up against.

You are incorrect

Not sure :- Glynn Evans, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation's head of game and gamekeeping, said: “Birds that are released for shooting are gradually introduced to the wild from protected pens during the summer, and before shooting starts they will be well established living freely in the wild.

"Any birds retained after that date would be breeding stock. This action is therefore unlikely to have any effect on the shoot, but uncontrolled release of birds into a wild environment to which they have not become accustomed shows no regard for the animal’s welfare.

if these birds were destined for release to be shot at, then they should have been gone prior to the start of the season, If however they were being retained as breeding stock the ok.

that's my understanding of the law.
