can someone recommend me a good clay cart?

Just find a cartridge which you like and stick to it, get to know the shell, and then you will have confidence in it. Its all to do with having confidence in your gun and cartridges.

 

For clays i use saga shells, and if i miss ive never once thought i might of hit that if i was shooting a premium shell.

Thing is gingercat I'd love to try 21g comp x but they're hard to get hold of round here

 

I tried both the 21g and 28g Comp X - didn't see much difference between them recoil wise or performance / clay score wise. Both are good shells. I stick to the 28g now as they're easier to get hold of.

Yep, the smell of the powder its "odd" each cart (powder) has its own aroma when burnt, I don't like the smell of the powder used by hull for CompX

I like the smell of Comp X. Or at least, I like the general powder smell when clay shooting - can't tell which is my Comp X, and which is my friends' and everyone else's!

Comp X and eley first are very different smells! The saga shells smell generic....... But firsts and comp x are rather distinctive

I've generally used Hull Comp X. Recently I was convinced in to getting 1000 Hull Superfast. You get a much sharper recoil and I don't see any improvement personally, I'll be going back to the X Comp next time.

I use hull superfast in my beretta semi as they're 70mm and the extra oomph just to make sure she cycles everytime but use eley firsts in my o/u.... Get on with both rather well
