fenboy
I shot two in two weeks that had rings , turned out they were both ringed in the same nest in thetford which is around 40 miles from where they were shot. I have never had one since. Edited November 10, 2013 by fenboy

Wingy
Never seen any ringed wood pigeon before, mustn't be shooting enough, however had the pleasure earlier in the year to shoot a cormorant (under licence from NE, all legal) Thad had a Natural History Museum Ring on. Turned out it was 3 years old born off the Welsh coast Wingy
Whitebridges
Never shot a ringed Woody. I thought the process was to send the details and the ring to the BTO in Thetford? http://www.bto.org/

anser2
Very few adult wood pigeons are ringed in the UK mainly because they are very difficult to catch . In 25 years of ringing I only managed toring adozen and never got any recoveries from any of them
