David BASC
One photo must be signed by you, each referee must endorse a separate photo , with the date and confirming the likeness
browning123
My Firearms Certificate expires 2014 and my Shotgun Certificate expires 2015. Is it still possible to apply for a Certificate for both to expire at the same time?

Big Mat
What a waste of paper having all those pages, especially the last one. What has the last page got to do with the grant of a cert?
mossy835
that is part g,page 11, and they ask your gender, and other silly things, but they know if your male or female,by the name on the forms.they must have all the info on you.what a waist of time, and as you say paper. HW682
Taken from the .gov.uk website Guidance on Firearms Licencing Law.... I believe the HO Guidance is going to be updated to cover the new forms.
Steel100
The HO are currently going through a process, in consultation with the shooting organisations, to 'tidy up' some of the typos etc. and reflect the changes brought about by introducing the new forms. That consultation officially concluded on Monday 11 November. That doesn't mean the process has ended. The next job will be for the HO to start addressing the list of unresolved issues, which the shooting organisations have flagged up. This is an ongoing process. Having an 'online' document means that changes can be made as they are agreed. Andy

Andy That is good but I do not see any of the organisations asking for input...BASC have presented this as the finished item..no room for comment. If I am wrong then I ask David BASC to raise my issues.
David BASC
I am very happy for anyone to feedback any issues they have so we can collate them and present them to the HO et al. Although these are the forms that are going to be used form Dec, there is always room for improvement I agree, but without feedback information..... Steppenwolf
This seems a bit confusing. I declared a minor speeding offence on original grant, now on renewal with the new guidelines do I have to re-declare this information which the police already know? I have to disagr with people here. The new variation form actually makes it easier. Say for example that I wanted to sell my gun and get another one. Send notification of transfer form then complete a whole firearm certificate form again with the "One for one Variation" ticked. The new varition form has the facility to add calibre and ammunition so i presume you can use the same form to notify your sale and also your re-opening of the slot no? phaedra1106
I (currently) use a single A4 form with the sale/purchase details on, I just email the firearms dept. letting them know the details and if I want a variation, I attached the form as a PDF file and then drop off my cert within 7 days with a small note referencing what I'd emailed. Very quick, very simple and certainly saves a lot of paper. Last one was just this, I wish to apply for the following 1 for 1 variations to my FAC no.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAs notified earlier by email the following firearm was sold to Mr xxxxxxxxxxxx, Durham FAC no. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on November 1st.1 x .223 xxxxxxxx Bolt Action Rifle S/No. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxPlease also remove the following, Authority to Purchase - 1 x 223 moderatorTo be replaced with,1 x Section 1 Multi-Shot Shotgun for Target Shotgun/Practical Shotgun/Clay Pigeon1 x .44 Lever Action Rifle for Gallery Rifle Competition (open sights), indoor/outdoor target shooting" Seven lines of plain clear text containing everything that is required. Yes....which was the reason for my posts on this. If you wish this to remain as it is now then please let David Basc know as he can take our views for any fine tuning required
Steppenwolf
In response o phaedra, at the minute if I want to do 1 to 1 variation I have to complete another aplication form with all my details. I am glad that your constabulary does it like this, but from my point of view the new variation form will be easier.
phaedra1106
I just email one of these suitably filled in, everything they need to know but with the new forms to use from December it will be a lot more work. The other benefit at present is that I have the original document copies of every email, PDF and note/letter ever sent to them. Nikk
Do you have to fill all the details about convictions etc every time you renew? Can't they just refer to the original application?

Nikk
I'm struggling to see the improvements for the application/renewal forms. It looks like virtually the same in fact....anyone care to enlighten me?
mossy835
the only good thing about the fac forms, is the refs dont have to fill in as much,
