grahamch
I have been doing the rounds of local gun shops trying to find some tungsten matrix or bismuth 3 inch loads for an old magnum I have recently aquired. All I was offered was bismuth at £56 for 25 and TM seems to have disappeared. Plenty of steel but my gun wont take it and I wont use enough shells to make home loading practical.I find this frustrating - we are asked to use non lead loads but trying to get them is near impossible without having to buy a modern gun and use steel which I am loathed to do.Surely there must be some one making tm or selling bismuth is smaller boxes? Or are we all to be forced to use steel and have to buy new guns to cope with the stuff/
Teal
It might help if you updated your account profile with your location as another member may be located nearby and able to advise. You talk of local gunshops, but do not know if these are in England, Scotland, Wales....
Penelope
If it's any help, I use steel in my English 3", choked 1/4 and 1/2 with no signs of ill effects. Express Supreme 2 3/4 4's for close duck and Gamebore Mammoth 3" 1's and 3's for anything else.

Scales, RTO and a fe home made bits and bobs are fine if you don't want to load a 1000 a season or even month in the case of some. Like many others I put steel through my old 3" magnum but it aint a pricey gun and the chokes are opened right out now
Whytie2697
I know what you mean I was after steel a few months ago and was told I had to order in a minimum if 250 well I am lucky if I use at most a box in a season as dont get out that much with work so I was just looking for a box of say 4 s and a box of 1s and this was well after the season had started and couldn't just pick up a box

Guest cookoff013
you should buy 250 then sell the ones you dont want.
Penelope
You could order what you want from Just Cartridges, although there is the carriage cost to consider. Ordered 250 Gamebore 2 1/2" paper case for my Dad's crimbo pressie and added four boxes of 3" Mammoth for myself. Ordered Tuesday, arrived yesterday. bighit1985
See if there are group of other people that might want to go in together on a slab if that's the minimum order.
