houlsby
Depends if you like driving or not! I'm quite bad for driving huge distances, did Doncaster to marseille in one go with fuel/ferry stops last year in our 20 year old vw camper. Loved it. Livefast123
Drove from Munich to Weston Super Mare non stop (apart from ferry to Dover) in my £160 Fiat Tempra banger rally car with only a blowout on the way......
EMcC
I often drove from Hannover to Yeovil non stop apart from the break during the ferry crossing from Ostend to Dover in a Simca 100. I can't remember how long it took, but as I was a chain smoker in those days, the car was covered in fag ash by the time I got home !! rapid basher
6and2 3"s 100 miles extra or less ether way But the Pembroke ferry is 4.5 hours As a-posed to 3.5 Plus there's only 2 saleings Per day If I crack on I might catch the fast cat 1.5 hours
four-wheel-drive
Just a thought but did you no that there are large metal birds that fly in the sky and you can for a few pounds buy a ticket and one of these birds will fly over the land and sea and drop you off at a place called an airport near to where you live saving you loads of time. :whistling:
Lampwick
Helmsdale in Sutherland to sunny Suffolk with one fuel stop once 11 hours! At times it was like I was on auto pilot! Didn't remember driving past xyz!
pegasus bridge
Planes are great, but as soon as you need to travel anywhere remote from them it becomes a nut ache. I go to Scotland a fair bit, and prefer the flexibility of driving.

Thelongwayup
Have a yearly pilgrimage to Malmo in Sweden one way trip at 27 hours stopping for coffee n fuel.... Loved it until we started pulling two tonne trailer on the vw We did that drive the other year and kept going up to Skjervoy at the top of Norway. LOOOOOONG drive that one. Took us 3 1/2 days stopping for fuel and supplies. Malmo bridge is pretty impressive isn't it but not exactly cheap. Took the E4 from Malmo north. Now that's another long road but very easy to drive with some stunning scenery.

EMcC
These big metal birds don't let you take much with you tho and some of the things I take when travelling are made such a fuss of with paperwork and excess charges that the car is the best option - but not always !!
