Game seems to becoming very popular of late.... :look:

I was watching Country File the other week, where a young enterprising young man had set up a specialist 'eatery' service using only shot game from shoots, and turing them into top notch meals.

He even had won some sort of enterprising award, but I cant for the life of me remember what is was called :yp:

Who is giving you 25p per bird? Please provide some details as this is a very good price.

It's not a good price, it's abysmal, back in the mid 70's I was getting 50p a bird then, and cartridges were about half the price they are now.

The progressive tightening of food processing regulations year on year by the EU has meant that there is now no real market for them.

Rick Bestwick's is based in Holmewood Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Last I heard he was paying 20p a bird (woody). that was a while ago thoe. I would rather eat them myself or brest them for the dogs.

I dont shoot that many unfortunatelly :P I need to improve my decoying methods and shots.

I have started going clay shooting to get some practice in and I have spent hours on this forun lately learning from you lot (thanks  ). So when the birds start to hit the rape I will be ready for them. And if my bag's of pigeon dont improve I can blame you lot on here.:lol:

Mark Gilchrist, Game for Everything, somewhere in Kent. He apparently uses locally shot game to make game dishes that are sold at local farmers markets and via mail order. Just seen this in Sporting Gun. Might be of some use to people in that area.
