Guest DeanBjjBean
Hello I am in process of applying for my sgc,and just thought of asking people on my chances of getting one. I am 26 years old and like most people have made a few mistakes in the past. The 1st one was for carrying a offensive weapon when I was 17. ( got pulled on way home from work had a bat in my boot of my car was under loads of clutter) The second was when I was 18or 19 had a stupid drunken night and ended up with a gbh conviction which I'm not proud of. But since that day kept myself quiet no more criminal convictions just a two motoring convictions for driving on the phone. I have been shooting for years on my family owned land and would love to go too the next level on pest control air guns can only do so much. plank06
It's all about honesty on the application mate, however small the offence make sure its written down, as believe me, they know everything. But from what you say im sure they will grant a certificate. Good luck and welcome to PW!
Uncle Albert
As has been said, be honest on your app. Don't forget all convictions need to be put down. I even had to put a speeding one down from 1966 approx. It's so long ago I can't even remember the exact Year!
wabbitbosher
Be honest on your application, there's quite a few people i know who "Fought the Law and the Law won" but you, (like most of us) grew up. Most Police forces understand
flynny
Sounds like me mate, I grew up in a ruff area and had the same as you( not proud at all), I hold both sgc and fac, just be honest as has been said, You'll be reet, I've gad mine for 20 years now, Just take the past as a lesson learnt, and as long as you keep your nose clean all will be ok Atb Flynny

HDAV
Before you submit the application join BASC or another similar organisation that can offer support and guidance, if you can get a referee that knows you well your temperament general demeaner get some photos and send off the application.
