FOXHUNTER1
Was out last night with Ratch to a small place we have a look at every year at this time as it always produces a fox. It is literally only a small paddock with a wood to the right of it and an overgrown railway embankment to the left and some rough council ground out in front covered in dense scrub. Ideal fox territory !! I started calling using my phone at first and after a few minutes caught a glimpse of an eye in the undergrowth some 150 yds away. I then switched to a hand call and coaxed him in lovely to 50 yds broadside. Ratch fired and unbelievably I watched the fox run off left handed. I couldnt believe that he could miss such an easy shot , he was emphatic that he couldnt have missed either. So a search was on the cards but we couldnt find the fox at all in the direction he ran off , so we widened the search and I eventually found him about 50 yds away from where he was shot but he ended up right handed . I couldnt believe how far this fox had ran after taking a .22/250 55 grain hollow point perfectly placed behind his front shoulder :o So last fox of 2013 ............ Hope every body on PW has a good New Year

flynny
Well shot mate, I shot one on Sunday( last night) at bout 80 YDS . I heard the thud of the impact, but could not find the beggar after half hour of looking. I was baffled, I knew I had hit it it was doing my head in , that was untill this morning when the farmer phoned me and said he had found it on the track behind the barn. The barn is 100 YDS behind my firing position !!!!!!!!!!!!! How it got there god only knows, They are resilient little beggars, Atb Flynny Edited December 30, 2013 by flynny
