Guest
I'm shooting this weekend on a small shoot. More of a walkabout and mini driven day. I'm putting down my usual Browning and borrowing a rather nice little AYA No.2 as it's nice and light and hardly noticeable when carrying around all day! My only concern is that i only have black gold 32g 5's and a few 32g 6 cheddite tordos which i fear will really punch through a gun that weights barely 6lbs! If anybody knows of any smooth yet hard hitting 12 bore game carts (28g/30g) then that would be greatly appreciated!

Guest cookoff013
what is your ultimate goal? light recoiling shells? light shot loads ? dead pheasants?. i homeload subsonic #4s for my sxs (a while ago now). they hit like a freight train and recoil like a Christmas cracker. WGD
For an occasional walk up I wouldn't worry about it, if you start the day off with a pocketful chances are you'll have most of the pocketful left at the end of the day unless the place is crawling with game? For the sake of a few shots I would just use your sixes.

Tim Kelly
I have found RC professional 30g in 5 or 6 to be a tremendously successful cartridge through my little English boxlock. Very easy on the shoulder but hard hitting on the birds. I often use RC Sipe 32g or Black Gold through my O/U or semi, but they're ugly through the SxS as the gun whips too much with the recoil making the second shot more difficult. pat g
I have been using Hull Imperial Game 28gr 6's through my sbs. Nice and smooth to shoot. I agree with WGD and Alfred though, for the number of cartridges you'll probably shoot i would just stick with your Black Golds ATB, Pat
