Five years or so ago I stayed in a house party in Scotland to shoot over the New Year period. I have never smoked but I was tempted by a cigar after dinner which I really enjoyed (it was very hard work keeping the cigar alive). I made it my New Year's resolution to take up smoking there and then as I had had so much pleasure from the experience.

However like all of my New Year resolutions it did not last long and I have not had a cigar since.

I believe that it was a Montecristo no. 4. The thing took two hours to smoke and denuded me of more energy than the day's shooting. The imagery of six of us sitting round the dinner table until the early hours trying to keep our cigars going whilst telling stories about our shooting exploits will remain with me for a very long time.

And by your last line you are a person that has the possibility to stop smoking as you admit you have a habit, but do not want to be an addict,as much as you enjoy smoking I think I could hypnotise you to stop smoking fairly easy,to save yourself a lot of money to buy carts, guns etc book a visit to a hypnotist, £100 spent stopped smoking for life. ;)

Alternatively grow a spine, get some will power, say balls to the habit and just stop.

I did, no nicotine therapies of any kind, just stopped, 3 years ago now, never smoked since!

Surely it also depends on your personality. If you have an addictive personality then may be best stay away. I do believe I don't and there is nothing I've experienced so far in life that I've become addicted to.

.........except perhaps Pigeon Watch.

Ayano just a little heads up on fri night you will prob receive a txt from our leader telling you that he wants an early start so don't be late. He will then rock up at 20 past asking where every one is. I might of set a hut on fire, which could of happened to anyone I might add, but it can tell the time.

Look forward to meeting you sat buddy.

Looking forward to coming over for the weekend. Be good to meet you all. I wont be late as I'm used to getting up at silly-o'clock for marsh trips (unless SABS sets me up). I have the Champagne and Sloe Gin packed ready for our mid-morning break :good:

Sounds good, I've got my expensive shoot horn and go pro ready.

See you bright and early sat.
