Dougy
Finally after a break in the terrible weather we have all been getting i managed to get out, not my original plan, after sending a Text to one of my permissions the reply was "there's nowt on ere you want to go to your other bit behind me, seen him about up there they have" (glad in a way as the mud and tom tit is about a foot deep through the farm) OK will give them a bell. No answer, left a message saying i was on the way over any problems give me a bell on mobile. so i rang next door farmer too just in case. After a chat he suggested i go up the track on to another field next to an old clay pit, so a little bit more land acquired one 36 acres field plus a couple more smaller but hey ho, maybe another adjoining farm The good thing is they all connect The result after about 5 minutes with the call, the first Vixen appeared from my left straight on to the rabbit squeal call around 120 yards stopped about yards from it and stood still pointing, side on safe shot "Bang" contact and down The second appeared from the same position but went further down the field and circled then came straight in closing on the already shot Vixen, could it be the Dog it was coming on the brow of the field so not really a safe shot, then it turned and had the field in full view behind again this one stopped as in the pointing position side on again "Bang" and the thud and 2nd down. Both Vixens and no sign of carrying
Archie-fox
Well shot mate.. How you finding it without the lightforce and just the nightmaster?
Dougy
I would say its almost cheating, thats with the archer. If you were referring to straight forward lamping its so much easier without the additional cables and the light output for such a small lamp compared to the older type is just amazing. simon6ppc
good shooting Dougy,so you highly recomend them NM 800,s do you, ive been considering getting one for a bit now but sense they won't be as bright as the
bunny_blaster
Simon the NM are seriously awesome as I lamp. I've swapped to a T20 IR for use with my Archer though as the picture is a lot better.
Dougy
Simon, I am seriously thinking if selling my 170 and cluson, there are too many pro's for the nm800. The brightness I have found, obviously not a scientific test, is probably less than a 170but its no disadvantage. You could spot eye shine at around 400yards + with the NM thats ample distance. No cable's / lighter and one person friendly whats not to like. (apart from the £££)

Fisheruk
It does and I might get a chance with the rimfire this weekend, but I think I'll wait a while before I use the centrefire.

Dougy
ye Dougy i could be owning one very soon, can you easily see a fox through a scope at 300 yard, as some nights, not very often but i do need to take shots quite far out as i do shoot a lot of moorland, I shot some rabbits the other night at just under 300yards on 20x + on scope, so light was restricted as would be at high mag with any lamp but still managed head shots on 2 of them so a Fox at 300 on less mag would not be an issue.
