hoggysreels
Wondering what fellow shooters consider as a " good all round 20 bore cartridge " .. one thats reasonably effective for all general shooting (excluding wildfowl) ... in short, which one would you have with you, if the quarry isn't specific ... cheers
casts_by_fly
28g 6's. If I'm shooting later season pheasants I'll bump up to 30g 5's (30g to maintain pattern density with my fixed chokes) but an ounce of 6's is enough for anything I'll be shooting at. rick
hoggysreels
Does it kick hard using 30g's Rick ?
motty
If I had a 20, i'd use an ounce of 7s.
dougall
25g 6s
sitsinhedges
I was using 30 grams of 4.5 shot thru my husher the other day for roost shooting. They were awesome, some amazing long range kills. Think the chokes are half and full.
seeker
25g 6s when I used a 20 I found the 25g of 6s in Pure Golds or Hull Game loads very pleasant and effective loads for most things .. But 21g 8s for clays.
casts_by_fly
Does it kick hard using 30g's Rick ? Not that i notice while shooting at game. I wouldn't do a day of clays, but for game no issue. Rick
Continental Shooter
I reload 27 #4 with plastic cup and 29 #6 without cup when shooting decoys but bulk up to 32 #4 when roost shooting, shooting high bird or on a walked up day in case i need to shoot a long bird or flush a fox. I used 32s one day i run out of normal loads and the stock start to loosen up (i shot over 100 shot though) Franco
