hedd-wyn
Just got back from a very cold and mentally demanding fishing trip in Skjervøy in Northern Norway. The weather was pretty bad so we only ended up doing 3 days fishing, but it was still an awesome place to be and a once in a life time experience. The largest fish caught was a 26lb cod caught by myself (please excuse the cheesy grin ) Between the four of us we managed to bag, Haddock, Cod, Coalfish, Ling and Torsk. No Wolf fish or Halibut unfortunately. This was the largest fish I caught at 26lbs on a cheap £4-50 pirk off fleabay, a 23lib soon followed. Apparently there was a danger of Freddy Kruger crossing the road every now and again If you get the chance to go, please do. We're already planning another trip in 2015 Heddwch

hedd-wyn
We did a bit of harbour fishing through frustration and cabin fever when the weather was bad. We used a standard 1 up 1 down rig with some prawn as bait and caught a fair bit of Coalies, very small to begin with, but caught some larger ones towards the end of the session. Well done We did keep some of the cod, only for ourselves. But put most back especially the larger ones. Even though Halibut was virtually out of season we were all hoping to catch one deep down. Personally I was more peeved about the Wolfie, that was on top of my list.

hedd-wyn
was the bad weather gales or snow or both Both, it was very frustrating but the swells over there were phenomenal. We were told by our guide that a fisherman had drowned in the camp next door on the Wednesday whilst we were there. He and his party had gone out even though they had been warned not to. Very sad, and shocking news

hedd-wyn
Hi it looks a great place and what a lovely fish is it expensive all in. Cheers Mark I think it came to about £550? Norway is very expensive as we'll. £8-30 a pint at the ONLY hotel in the town. were you self drive boats or skippered Self driven, we bought one lad with us that is an experienced seaman and not much of a fisherman and even he was shocked at what was considered 'fishable weather'
the crowman
Is that with a chartered boat and tackle hire
hedd-wyn
Is that with a chartered boat and tackle hire That price included flotation suits, rod and reel and a boat that was self driven. We bought our own lures with us

islandgun
Exactly, this caused a lot of arguments as you can imagine. A very awkward situation, when the skipper says no and the crew say its only a bit rough! skippers word is final, sad to here about the man in the next camp no fish is worth that
