Berettacocker
Don't think the dressing puts birds off. Shot lots of pigeons with crops full of red wheat! After all it's a dressing to aid germination/ deter insect pests I've been told and not to deter avian pests!
Konnie
already on here pink seed coating on maize or some thing like that, one coating is a bird repellent, drilled my cover plots and the spilled seed on the headland is still there
shinybum
i had a field of maize sown last week, expecting some crow shooting, not a bird to be seen...
matone
already on here pink seed coating on maize or some thing like that, one coating is a bird repellent, drilled my cover plots and the spilled seed on the headland is still there So has it repelled them from eating the seed or from the whole cover crop ? Konnie
the seed is untouched, rooks turned up first couple of days for wireworms and the like but that's all.
JDog
Don't get too excited about the maize drillings. As Konnie says there may be corvids on the field but they will be looking for wireworms, leatherjackets et al. Two fields of maize were drilled on one of my farms three weeks ago. Apart from the first two days there has not been a corvid or a pigeon anywhere near the field.

superspark
I have shot a lot of rooks over maize drillings. Put out decoys and see what happens, if your anything like me then just getting out for a while is great fun and bagging any is a bargin.
