SNAKEBITE
On Friday of last week there was a shooting not far from me, about 500yds as the crow flies! Two local scallies came back to a house and a chap in a balaclava took eight shots at them with a small calibre pistol hitting one bloke in both his arms. He was discharged from hospital the next day. As you can imagine the rumour mill was wworking overtime locally! (I want to know if he had his balaclava on the right way round, 8 shots at close range and only 2 hits ) First we knew about it was when the copper chopper was circling overhead searching the wreck that backs onto my cul-de-sac. We stood outside the house watching it wondering what was going on. I was out walking the dog on Saturday and walked past the house where the shooting took place and a police transit van with the old c.c.t.v. on top was parked outside. Now unless the transit was a time machine I can't imagine it was much use really but there you go. They even had police divers in the "muddy puddle that resembles a pond" in the wreck. It all happens round our way. I was going to post this days ago but got side tracked with other topics , still better late than never. henry d
The nearest we had up here was when a Stalker/`keeper was shot by a foreign stalker through the hip area whilst out on the open hill
Poacher
(I want to know if he had his balaclava on the right way round, 8 shots at close range and only 2 hits ) sometimes when they re-activate pistols they don't do it to any precision, and they can be very inaccurate. All the more dangerous i suppose and the fact that the gunman was off his head probably had something to do with it to No such fun round my way either. Dr W
At least it's fairly infrequent round your way. Here in the last week the lad was killed in Streatham, then the lad shot in Peckham and then finally I read that a couple were held up at gun point in the park round the back of the station for their bank cards and PINs then held until other members of the gang came back from the bank with hundreds of pounds and then let them go. I've got to get the hell out of here and move to the country side it's doing my head in.
OldBill
It was a 9mm pistol but the chap was a poor shot. I would imagine the CCTV van was there for "public reaasurance". Does anyone know where the shooter can get some pistol shooting lessons
SNAKEBITE
Thought you might know a little more! The blokes who were targeted are shall we say a little on the large side, steroid abuse by the size of them. Taking a 9mm round to each arm must have made his eyes water though, I thought those things could do serious damage.
JohnGalway
Nothings happened around here for years but... The local post office was raided one night. Previous owner stood out at the side of the building pegging away at the getaway car with his rifle as they were speeding off - down into the heart of the village Localish drug dealer sold someone a bag of flour - some people will buy anything. Guy came back with an air rifle and started drive by shooting his house Must've thought it was bigger than a hornet... Ahhh fond memories of the good ole days. Baldrick
Ah, Dr W, you're just up the hill from me. I'm in Battersea, and loathing every minute of it. So I'm moving back to the country this summer. Three years in London has virtually killed me off.
Mungler
Inside the M25 is a bit of a toilet now. Graffiti, shutters on all the shops and no one speaks English any more. Retreat to the hills!

the last engineer
im certain had anyone seen him shoot his hands were shaking like hell, as is the case in most firefights adrenalin takes over and only a seasoned shooter will overcome the effects, if you take a look at some of the documented cases in the "STATES" <-- just for Hunter , you will find many "gun/fire" fights recorded with multiple ( over 10 ) shots fired both parties and only minimun hits counted, again another fact being that these take place inside 30 ft, kinda scary dont you think, all that uncontroled lead flying around from the "cop's and the robbers" , guess you can only thank your lucky no inocent people were involved. death from below
there are some folk that bemoan the parking lot that is better known as the M25.....I think it is a greater creation than the China Wall(in china not the takeaway around the corner). Inner london is a cesspit of crime and is getting scarier by the day.......build another 25 around the old one I say just to make sure. Dr W
Ah, Dr W, you're just up the hill from me. I'm in Battersea, and loathing every minute of it. So I'm moving back to the country this summer. Three years in London has virtually killed me off. Shame really as I like the place (bars, restuarants etc minutes from my house, no cabs needed) but getting hitched 20 July and guess kids not far away (getting on a bit) so there's NO way I'm bringing kids up in London. Want to move to somewhere like Guildford or Dorking so there's enough stuff for her to do if she's at home with new born. At least then I'm close to plenty of shooting grounds rather than having to drive 20 miles to my current nearest. Want to be able to get out of the house and go walking, cycling, shooting etc without it taking ages to get there. Would head to Dorset or back to Derbyshire but we've both fairly settled in our jobs and on the up so don't want to leave. Only problem is that Surrey is as damn expensive to buy as London.
