whitehackle
I am doing my renewal today and have downloaded the forms of the BASC website. My question is, there doesn't seem to be separate forms for the referee's? I just gave to fill out their details? I can not see any other forms to download. Is this right? Thank you

whitehackle
The form asks me to fill these pages in. So the referee's don't have to fill anything out? Thank you

mossy835
on basc webb page are the new forms, on avon somerset police webb page, they are different forms, thought they were meant to be all the same.

Yeah, many areas are doing their own bits. Legally they cannot do this print off BASC official version, that's what I very recently did. Going to be issues for them to answer not you if you fill in the national HO approved version. My renewal was very straight forwards no problems
superspark
I just signed and dated the referee pages at the same time my referees filled them out. Don't forget to get your permission to shoot form filled out and signed by your farmer or gun club etcetera before you send it in. If you want a sound modifier for the calibre rifle you want you must add this aswell before the application goes in or it will be a £26 variation later. whitehackle
Sorry for the bad pic. This is page 8 and the same is on page 9. It says, please give details of a suitable person who has agreed to act as a referee for you. This dose not ask for anyone else to fill in the form. Also I have not got a permission form. None of this is on basc?
superspark
Have a look at this application form. There are two pages for your referees. Page 14 is the letter you need the farmer or your local gun clud to fill out and sign. Hope this helps. FirearmsApplication-2.pdf
phaedra1106
That's not the official form, Devon & Cornwall have altered it to have the referees sign it and also added the last page asking for a gun club or landowners signature. Page 8 and 9 of the official form only ask for the referees details and how long you have known them, use the correct forms from the BASC website, http://basc.org.uk/firearms/certificate-forms-and-fees/ Edited May 27, 2014 by phaedra1106

superspark
These forms seem to be a bit of a grey area. I personally think that the forms should be standard a cross the board. I have seen the BASC forms but my force added the land owners page. I don't think it would hurt in anyway to get the farmers signature on this extra page and it shows your committed to doing all you can plus you can photo copy it for your own record's in case you are challenged at any point Edited May 28, 2014 by superspark

superspark
The best advice I would give would be to contact your local firearms department and ask them which one they would like you to complete. I'm sure that they will put you on the right track. If your not sure of your local firearms department then just Google it where you should find all the information you need to either contact them by phone or email. A1Decoy
Hello, I have just been granted my FAC from Avon and Somerset, it took a total of 9 weeks from when i sent off the forms. I used the forms on the BASC website and had no problems. Hope this helps. Oscar

superspark
Hi Shoot gun, you will soon find out if you sent the wrong ones. Check with your local firearms department, they should be able to help you. I sent mine in 6 weeks ago then found out by calling them that I needed a land form permission slip signing by my farmer as well. They said just get it signed and the feo will pick it up when he pays me a visit. Still nothing yet though. Sprackles
The form asks you to fill, sign and date every page... the referees have to fill page 9 and 10, and sign. The FEO doesn't visit the referees... On initial grant of FAC my FEO visited one referee and rang the other one. The one he just rang is a Dentist so probably viewed him as OK. The other was a friend , nice lady but she got visited and questioned.
