quiteman
I have full body flock crows and they work well but are a pain to carry in bulk, what do members think about crow flock shells on the ground instead of full body ones as I would like reduce the size that I carry around got good access on tracks but still have to walk to get to other side of some fields. Davyo
Agree mate they pullem in no problems, I was a bit skeptical but for the cost thought I would give it a go. I've shot crows, jackdaws and rooks over them with no issues.Rooks for some reason decoy perfect and come straight in committed.I used off cuts of 4mm ply from my local diy cost £1 to make 26 silhouettes. Like the poster I wanted to scale the load down so now carry 24 pigeon fuds and 26 of these. Edited May 28, 2014 by Davyo
fruity
Yes I was impressed what a bit of ply and blackboard paint can do
LeadWasp
If time poor but cash rich FUDs are good...but I do find a full body sentry or two really makes a difference though. The crows socks and silhouettes mentioned above are a great bit of lateral thinking too.

mick miller
Don't bother with plywood. You can buy a sheet of black corex for a tenner and from it cut 40 plus silhouettes. Stick a bike spoke in the flutes of the corex and jobs a good un. We did this and shot just under 100 between us over two days. The crows came in just as well as with half shells, plus the corex weighs nowt and 40 silhouettes take up about the same space as one shell. As above, although I was lucky to get the Correx free off my future son in law. I used coat hanger wire for the spikes. Steve.
kaunda
Don't go much on the coat hanger or cycle spoke idea, they can play hell with machinery. Try wooden barbecue sticks, won't hurt the machine if you forget to pick them up and cheap as chips.
mick miller
Good point, although I am super careful not to leave any behind.
steve_b_wales
Good point, although I am super careful not to leave any behind. +1. I make sure all of my spikes are collected, even though they are a very tight fit when inserted into the Correx, and come out of the ground easily.
