Sco77w
OK The next slot I want to fill on my FAC is for a 303. Now I know these have been made under license all over the world and over a long period. So taking that into consideration are there any I should be hunting down or avoiding. I don't have a huge budget and it will be getting used so no museum pieces or cabinet princess wanted.
saddler
I'd personally NOT have an Indian made one My first SMLE was a 1918 dated Australian Lithgow. Nice rifles, and made until well into WW2 by the Australians.

welshwarrior
I've got good mates heavily involved with the above link and some of the rifles used are stunning examples that shoot well.

iain
I fancy an Australian smle made after 1927. They have a heavy barrel so should be a little more accurate
Imperfection
C&G firearms in Harpendon have a 'new' one in stock. It has a brand new barrel and un-issued wood so will last a lifetime. However,i like old service rifles to have character and prefer them to have dings etc. http://www.cgfirearms.co.uk/%28S%28q3rmupchpqil1zsxrbiuwtzq%29%29/Gallery.aspx?A1=Search~British%20Rifles~Index~1176~Page~3 Or opt for a No4 which can be bought for very little money or the short and quirky No5. I have a 1950 No4 Mk1 Longbranch (Canadian).
