fenboy
I have not had chance to look at the fields this week but thought I would go have a look at a field that had lots of birds on it last week. Things did not get off to a great start when I was a couple of hrs late getting down the field due to having some unexpected visitors . Eventually got down around 16.30 and there was the odd bird or two flitting about so I unloaded the car and headed to a area where the peas have been hit very hard . I was faced with either having the breeze in my face or the sun in my eyes , so chose the first option . I had just got set up when a sprayer turned up to spray the field , a quick chat with the farmer and he said he would be done in about 40 mins so I decided to sit it out and wait until he had finished There were quite a few pigeon about by now and I started of shooting very well , I had a triple from the first bunch that came in and had 15 for my first 15 shots . Unfortunately the wheels then came off my shooting for some reason and I must have missed about 7 or 8 on the bounce ! the dog looked disgusted at me I started hitting a few once more and ended with 27 for 41 shots , not bad for a couple of hours I guess . Big Mat
27 for 41 shots? I'd be more than happy with that! Have you been taking the lab out with you?

marsh man
How long have your peas been in Fenboy, they look a bit thin on the ground where your got the coys out, maybe ours are a different variety than yours but when I had a look yesterday they were up nearly 18ins with the odd flower showing, as for your shooting 2 out of 3 aint bad and 15 on the trot tell me your a man who don't like wasting his cartridges..........Good shooting. Some are now just starting getting pods on the rest is in flower , where I shot they have been hit hard by the pigeon and are about 5" high and quite thin the rest of the field is about 12" The decoys are on cradles ,
