Dave-G
It's usually done by the other force after being requested by yours - so that two guvmnt depts that have to pull a finger out.
beesley121
The land next door to one of the permissions has been passed off up to .243. As its on the same big hill (or mountain) I'm sure it will be passed off no problem. Don't understand why they just don't look at it on a map and see that is fine for at least .22lr and .17hmr I'm worried I'll loose these too permissions if they don't hurry up. Is there not something I can do to make them pull their finger out? Will basc be interested? Heard one guy has been waiting 18 month for north wales to do a land check!! That's just not on Edited June 10, 2014 by beesley121

Am I better asking north wales rather than cheshire

That's just not on I'm afraid checking land comes way down the list of priorities. Renewals, variations and grants, quite rightly, take precedence. 5 weeks for an inter-force land check is hardly a long time.
robbiep
Not to mention the fact that North Wales Police are so slow, the make most glaciers look like they're in a hurry. Friend has a SGC application in at present, and has been told (he phoned up to ask progress) that they are taking 4-6 months for grants. Dave-G
I ought to clarify my earlier advice: Land CHECKS are done at the request of your licensing office. I have found enquiries regarding if land is already cleared can be given direct, so ring the other force to ask what calibre it is cleared for. Good shot?
As earlier post, email (best because you get an email reply) or ring north wales office and ask what calibre your land is already passed for.All being well you will be good to go. I have emailed other area feo's for the same reason and got a reply within 24 hours. Edited June 11, 2014 by Good shot?

Am I better asking north wales rather than cheshire OK fine But, you have been granted permission from the land owner to clear vermin, The farmer that has asked you has not ssen you for over 2 weeks,, he could be thinking-- "not seen that lad round since i told him he can shoot rabbits" Phone rings--- "Morning Mr Farmer, can i shoot some rabbits, i can be there tonight " " Of course you can young man nobody else does it" Why should the farmer need to wait for a job he has asked to be done for well exactly how long will it be You have other permission then fine but just remember there's always someone who will be after the same as you and who's to say that permission is your 's for life. Whitebridges
If they can't clear the land PDQ then ask for your ticket to be opened up.
dadioles
Yes, as Whitebridges said. Try a polite letter to your local police force explaining the situation and making it clear that you are losing shooting opportunities because of these delays. If you have had your licence for a reasonable length of time and can show by your ammunition purchases and permissions that you are an active shooter you may be able to persuade them to open your ticket. There is no legal reason for them not to, it is rather more a matter of whim.
