Got the stinking little........thing!

Five years.....five long years I have been after this vixen off and on.

Five years I have heard her distinctive call, she has dodged me wonderfully. Once I took a long desperate shot at her the bullet just passing over her back!

Even my dog knows her!

Clever fox. I worked out she knew where I stood/hid! So I planted my self ten yards to the left and low this time and took a shotgun as she was running past when so close!

Through nettles I watched her look at my stand about 100yds away! Coast clear she comes in but is now going too wide for the shotgun!!!

I squeaked quietly like a mouse and she comes to it but stops at 45 or so yards, a little more I whisper, she does and with her facing me...the worst position and five long years I let her have it, three shells later and it was over.

The loads were reloads of 25grns of Nobels 80, plas wad and 32g of #2 shot.

Nice one U. 5yrs is a good run for a fox on one of your permissions I reckon, must be a smart one!

it is! She was very savvy and her sixth sense was very advanced!

She would often give me the finger as I left screaming and howling her distinctive call!

Last few weeks she has drove me mad. I had to back off again for a while and start again!

See her in the lamp all the time but she would be gone as soon as under 200yds!

We have removed several of her lovers! I watched one December morning her with four dogs applying for her afections! Still could not get a shot on her then too!

U.

Underdog . I know how you feel . I had a similar situation a few years back but with a dog fox . Took me 2 yrs to get the *** . I went out lots of times with the sole intention of getting him . Until one day he just walked past my hide while out decoying . I gave him a 3 shots of my pigeon loads broadside from about 15 yrds . Job done . Stupid thing is I sort of felt sad that the chase was finally over . But it only lasted for about 30 seconds haha .

well done anyway mate
