quiteman
Hi can anyone tell me where I can get only the springs to fit the crow sticks which come without springs as I do not wish to paint the pigeon ones and use them. Chris.
evo
why do you need springs,, they come without springs and they don't need them, just put your decoys out on any stick because they are there to attract them, putting springs on will make no difference what so ever atb Evo

Spring sticks in my opinion are a waste of time.

quiteman
Went out this morning shot 53 crows but the funny thing was that as it got hotter the more the black stick bent which made the pattern look all the better
Davyo
I didnt bother with sticks, just placed shells on the bottom made no difference apart from less faffing on.

Lord Geordie
Making a spring stick for SOME decoys can offer realistic feeding movement! I made a simple one, from a twig and a light duty spring. When the breeze runs, face the decoy into the breeze, and it gently rocks back and forth! Shop bought spring sticks are naff I agree! But home made can offer a range of scenarios for your decoys. A rigid decoy,.staked into the ground! And a mod to the head to allow it to pivot on a piece of spring steel can add a pecking effect too in a breeze! Granted, you need a breeze to offer movement! But often the birds like a bit of a blow to flight in!
