Decyoing on Pea Stubble.....

There were a few birds flying out of the town but with so much choice I was not convinced, It made a change to drive the boarders and I managed to put out around 200 birds from the trees.

 

Driving back up to where the hide would be, I rang Peter Theobald and he answered " was that you who put up those birds"

He had driven past just as they we coming out....He said " go on the third oak tree" I replied the kit is all ready there and laughed.......

A steady trickle of birds came into a 1/4 cross wind turning around the rotary with a good number birds producing my favourite shot, a pair taking the back bird first and keeping the gun going with a bit more choke to pole the second one....

 

As the day was closing more birds on there way back were shot with what I guessed they were on....wheat!!

But for most of the day they had empty crops, I moved the pile around my hide to keep them in the shade and back in the chillier.

 

Going back with Chip to pick up some birds that I watched drop in the distance, I stopped 30/40 yards away giving him a bit of work for his tea....
