Few rabbits with the 'ladies gun'

After a pretty **** day/week at work I had my mind set on getting out with the gun as soon as I'd clocked off at 5.

Once again the gun of choice was my trusty Webley Scott Bolt action 410 or 'the the ladies gun' as Mrs Wyn likes to call it

For some reason she collapses in a fit of giggles when I take out of the cabinet or give it a clean in the living room, she reckons as far as guns go it's pretty 'camp'

Never mind, combined with the Eley Fourlong 12.5g noumber 6 and a decent wind it did a decent job on these rabbits.

I really need to start taking my 12g out more often but I feel our relationship is slowly fading away :sad1:

Crikey , how far away was the one on the left when you shot it ?

Handy little gun the 410

That one was shot with the 308.

Seriously though, the closest one was a bolter about 15yards I'm guessing it's that one on the left cant really tell which is which.

These guns are very tightly chocked. I've totally ruined the meat on some rabbits before now with this gun, same cartridge.

You have to own one to truely appreciate the pleasure they give ...nice results there mate!!

Ive recently got a couple of boxes of Lyalvale 14g cartridges .. though unfortunately they come with plaatic wad ...they gave the impression they have more clout than the trusty fourlongs ...

I really need to try a box of these. Although I'm very happy with the 12.5's and they do a great job you have to be VERY picky with shots. But to be honest there is very little choice for us 2 1/2 inchers out there

Noticed that justcartridges stock the Lyavale 14grams, I might try them out. I'm usually lucky to get hold of the Eleys at mu local shop to be honest so when they have them in stock I usually buy the lot. Down to my last box now.

Beautiful, as always ! The most under-rated shotgun calibre.

Wynnstay farmers were stocking the Lyalvale 410 cartridges, so might be worth a call to your local branch.

Failing which, and if your local shop hasn't got any Eleys in, I've always got a few boxes of Eley sitting around that I can sell you

I think the one on the left got hit by a full plastic shot cup as I can kill bunnies at less than that with fibre wad and a full choke .410 without ever seeing such damage indeed 15-20 yards and the .410 is really in its grove. Hey I don't think its camp one bit I was expecting to see it had been painted pink or something. I love the little gun now and have a lightweight s/s and some 24 grm fibre loads for this sort of thing but its always the .410 that gets to go out instead (note to self: Sell the darn 12!)
