ab1964
Just saw this Gun Trader Post for a taurus long barrel revolver 45 acp (http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/291816-taurus-long-barrel-revolver-45-acp) Anyone have an opinion on what Good Reason one may use to have such a firearm placed on a FAC slot? What about for .22 long barrel pistol?

Imperfection
Target shooting at a HO approved club is a legitemate reason.
srspower
I put a .44 mag lbr and a .22 lbp on my ticket. The feo was a bit funny about it but I am a member of a major club so ...
Hatcher
I was speaking to a guy at my local gunsmiths and he said that he's got similar type guns on his licence down as humane dispatch, I wasn't sure if you'd be able to get it for that. I'd be interested to know if anyone has similar licensing reasons? ATB Hatcher
Cannon
I thought deer stalkers and the likes could have restricted magazine pistols for humane dispatch over there? There's a member on here with a CZ 9mm pistol who has it for humane dispatch. The magazine can't hold more than 1 or 2 rounds.
bluesj
Around here unless your doing deer management or slaughter of fallen stock you'd strugle getting a pistol for humane dispatch. after all if you are stalking you will have a rifle with you! Subaru_sti5
Target shooting will be reason enough for a long barrel pistol but it also has to have a stupid attachment to the grip to bring overall length above X length (not sure of length) but you can get a pistol which doesn't have to have a long barrell or the attachment for humane dispatch but you have to be someone like a police deer warden. A fiend of mine has a .38 special revolver limited to 2 shots with the other 4 holes filled with a spacer type thing that is removed with a special pin thing ( hope you like my technical terms! ). My .22 is the same, got six chambers blocked with a plug welded, glued or hammered in.
Subaru_sti5
Yeah but the plug on my friends revolver is removable with a tool which he does not have but the place he bought it from does so it has never been butchered in order to make it 2 shots. BattleFieldRelics
If you go for a .22 LBP you can have a semi. I've got a 1911, holds 14 rounds.. Great fun:
southeastpete
I thought that was a moderater on the end, sounds loud in the video though, or is it just because it's a small closed space? If it had to be a long barrel, could the extra length be made up if a permanently attached mod??
rogcal
Why not go for a Sec 1 nitro muzzle loading revolver such as these: http://westlakeengineering.com/15105.html I've got a slot on my ticket for a .357 plus an additional cylinder which will allow me to preload both cylinders ready for action as soon as I arrive at the range. Now all I need to do is convince her indoors that I need to spend over a grand on more toys. Incidentally, when I put in my variation for the above plus a .44 BP revolver, I never heard from my FEO and the variation went through without any problems whatsoever! I have an old Ruger Old Army in .45 and a LBR in 357 and the 'standard model' for £495 looks appealing to me!
