Richie10
Hi, Going to scotland in a few weeks time, inland decoying for Pinks. Got Mammoth BBB 3.5" cartridges for the pinks with a kicks modified choke. Would anyone recommend a lead cartridge that I could take aswell? Thanks
Penelope
RC 50 in 3's, Eley Magnum in 3's, in fact any 3" 42-50g of lead 3's would suffice. I wouldn't bother with steel at all for inland decoying north of the border. Hi, Going to scotland in a few weeks time, inland decoying for Pinks. Tony G
I'm in Scotland next week For decoyed geese you only need 42g threes or fours through quarter choke, half choke max BBB is too big you will get a **** pattern Save the 3 inch cartridges for flighted ones or higher ones

ayano3
I would have thought eley lightning 1 or 3 would do the job nicely over decoys.

I think I might have noticed that. I would have thought eley lightning 1 or 3 would do the job nicely over decoys. Still haven't got my hands on these Lightnings yet. Really want to try them now! Tony G
BBB is ok with a bit of choke for longer range ones, but I prefer smaller shot size like 3 and 4 for over decoys I'm talking lead not steel and usually go for Victory mini mags
Wildfowler325
As already said 40-42g load will be fine, i normally shoot Victory Mini Magnum, but this year i have hand loaded cartridges from Alex Kerr in 42g 3's and 3" 50g 2's. And so far they are doing very well!

BlackBoar
Used lyalvale express super game 42g 1's for inland canadas in scotland last year. did the job
Wobbler
Lyalvale express super game 42g 1's I used the same for decoyed greylag last year and they did a good job. But lead 3s for decoyed pinks should be fine. Good luck
figgy
I'd go 3 or 4 shot for decoyed pinks. Most shots well inside thirty yards,36 gram of either will be more than enough. Enjoy yourself Figgy
Hunter2
on the foreshore we use gamebore no 1`s 3.5 magnum 42g for geese, maximum half choke, enjoy

fendrover90
Really I've patterned bbb with tighter than half after market chokes to a good standard didn't find the mammoths patterned anything like as good as my home loads though
Tony G
I did say BBB is ok if choked up a bit especially for flighted or longer shots The loads and chokes I suggested were for fairly close range decoyed geese

Tony G
do you homeload ? No I don't,I've got a mate who does and he loves BBB for geese in his 10 bore
fendrover90
Ah ok I've a mate who says bbb pattern better in 3" than our usual 3-1/2" multi metal bbb combo but I've not tested this yet
