Davyo
When surrendering a FAC/SGC,is there a procedure as I sent my sons back but have had no confirmation reply.Mine are going in after my guns have all gone, but worried (Durham lol)that we should at least get a confirmation letter. HDAV
Why are you surrendering if you dont mind me asking? YOu could sell the guns and keep certs until they run out that way with SGC at least you can borrow a gun if you want a day out?
Scully
A cousin surrendered his after the handgun ban. Simply sold all his guns and let it lapse; didn't even inform licensing he was doing so, and that was that.

Just bored with it mate, sold most of my stuff a few months back with all intentions of stopping then. But though I'd give it another go but feelings are still there. HDAV
Well I would say keep the SGC at least until it runs out the FAC you may need to surrender officially as you won't have a good reason. Most just let them lapse.
Andy H
Just let them run out then no notification is required and if the urge call's before they expire they are still there.
kent
I have done it in the past, just let them expire after selling my guns. I think too many hold onto licences and guns they are not actively using

Sha Bu Le
When I surrendered my SGC many moons ago, (young family, short of pennies) new security requirements coming in etc, etc. Sent SGC back to Northumberland police with a covering letter, got a letter back asking what I had done with my gun(s). Sent them a receipt from an RFD I had sold the guns to, never heard another thing.
