Passionforangling
Very reluctantly I am parting with my cherished refurbished series 3 Landrover which I thought I would offer here before anywhere else. This 88" landrover underwent a total refurbishment in July 2011 at a specialist 4 x 4 Landrover garage. The rebuild consisted of the following: Reconditioned 200 tdi engine Reconditioned gear box and axles, Discovery diffs Brand new galvanised chassis which was then waxoyled Cat 1 alarm/ imobiliser Two new from seats in Moorland trim Locking cubby box Two rear fold up seats in Moorland trim 5 new tyres Glass windows to rear sides Safari rear door Fully soundproofed and carpeted Rubber mats front and rear Later type 90 headlight surrounds Two 12v sockets, one front one rear Internal light Quality radio/cd player Locking fuel cap and bonnet hasp All body panels and the bulkhead were blasted and repainted with most panels being new New radiator New fuel tank New springs and shocks New hoses throughout New brakes, pipes throughout And there is probably more that I've forgotten! All in all this is a superb vehicle for the shooter and is in first class condition repainted in green with a beige roof. The Landrover benefits from having a Fairey overdrive fitted which is as quiet as a mouse and helps return around 30 mpg Since the rebuild it has been regularly serviced at the garage that did the rebuild with all receipts available and photographs of the rebuild in progress. The car was first registered on the 18thMay 1970 and so is tax exempt and costs me £140 a year to insure throughLancaster under their classic insurance policy with a Guarenteed value of £12500 should it be stolen and not recovered. I have all the correct documentation in my name on the V5 which correctly shows the vehicle as being in the historic class. The only reason it needs to go is that my wife just can't drive it! With no power steering they are a bit brutish but I just love it! However, needs must so it's up for sale and would make a great motor for the coming winter and many more to come. Obviously it's 40 years old so don't expect refinements but if you want a good honest vehicle that will appreciate in value then by all means get in touch. I can't upload photos on this site, my computer skills aren't up to it but I will happily email some photos if you are interested. Everything works as it should on this Landrover including 4 wheel drive in high and low ratio, all electricals etc......just ready for the winter. Mot'd until next July the Landrover is near to junction 9 of the M42 The refurbishment alone cost £12000 so I'm looking for around £8995 for it to go to a good home

JDog
I wouldn't let my wife anywhere near a vehicle like that. Having one would be the perfect excuse for having it to yourself.

It's got the bottom turbo with the original type series 3 box. I'm afraid your suggestion wouldn't work Ditchman. Mrs Passionforangling got off to a bad start with the Landrover. The very first time she drove it she chipped a nail putting it into first gear when she caught her finger between the gear knob and the dash. As she got out after the test drive of all of a mile or two she caught her skirt on the seat adjuster and tore it slightly. That, I'm afraid was the end of her relationship with the Landrover!
