Suffolk shooter
No point missing them before you get there. Turn up and shoot at every target as well as you can, thinking about how hard its going to be will only make you miss more Pin, don't worry about that, I've shot every clay going for the last fortnight in my dreams so I'm well set. Just point me in the direction of the most comfortble bit of grass I'll get me head down and dream of smashing another 200 plus all of them birds in the shootoff with the great Mr Faulds to win. So what your saying then Jonsey is that you should comfortably hit your average with the odd chance of a bonus one or two. I'm really looking forward to it. tosspot
Well folks, the event is now underway, and the early scores will soon be posted. Jonsey & I have used a complex mathematical formula to accurately predict the scores of all the PW members shooting this Friday. This method is based upon certain known factors such as age, Body Mass Index, number of PW posts, ability to spell correctly, and whether there's an "r" in the month. The predicted scores will be posted on Friday, once you guys are at the ground and out of laptop range. Have a good day. Cat PS - I can't believe Jonseys prediction for Munglers score - will he be using a single barrel .410..?? Well firstly i would like to increase my score by 3% by correcting a spelling mistake grandure(sic) - grandeur, never knew this clay shooting lark would be so easy, using the old "catajonsia" equation method anyway. Ive also lost a lb or two recently but am unsure whether that equates to good or bad? After having the honour of shooting with Cat on a couple of occasions(spelling?) i happen to know that he isn't adverse to a bit of psychological mindgames and likes to pile on a bit of pressure, Eh jonsey , so i think it only fair that we "the usual suspects" predict cats scorecard As an England shot i think he has the most to lose and a top 10% score should be a must a 185 maybe? Suffolk shooter
Surely with all the advice he has given to us all, he ought to be able to do that and more TP. Lets face it the worst that can happen to anybody shooting there is that I score higher than they do, so I'm off to Essex Gun right now to hand in the large brown envelope full of cash I just found outside their shop. Nudge, Nudge Wink Wink, know what I mean SS

LMAO. I’m glad someone else has noticed although he doesn’t always go in for the psychological mind games, once he just tutted when I was midway through a pair another time knowing that I have a problem in High 2 in skeet, he just said “careful†before I was due to take the stand then when we all shot at Dartford and I did my bozo impression at the DTL he said “that power station is a bit off putting isn’t it?†well I couldn’t stop looking at it after then, didn’t see any clays just the power station, I hadn’t even noticed it before he pointed it out. So predict away, I mailed him my scores yesterday so I can’t change them now. If Cat shoots more than I’ve predicted and I wasn’t in a generous mood yesterday, (I’m on the cake wagon) I’ll buy the first round next time we all shoot. In the meantime Cat, don’t listen to what they say about stand 4 on the first layout. Not your favourite target I know but you’ll be fine, just concentrate and remember to keep those barrels moving
Catamong
Hmmm, well thanks to all for their comments, I've made a proverbial rod for my own back by predicting everybody's scores, all I can say on that one is that both Jonsey & I came up with exactly the same prediction for my score, although we differed wildly on some of the others. All will be revealed at about 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Anyway, some hot news, the big fella has just shot a 97 on the first layout..!! Follow that one guys..!! Cat. Mungler
97 eh? I hope that was out of 200. Fear not, I have plenty of hommmm and my new lucky hat. However, as yet I have no cartridges and must get some tomorrow lunchtime or else I will be in some difficulties. I think it maybe too short notice to get cartridges packed with the force.... Incidentally, what will everyone else be packing? I was going to take a selection of the high velocity 7.5s for rabbits and fast aways, 8's for general and 9's for easy incomers / sitters although from what I am hearing I might as well leave the 9's at home. Discuss.

Has he got a prejudice against the other 3 or is he just not good enough? If that is all he can manage then there is room for him to be beaten. BTMS
I have consulted the famous ruins (Grouse) the best results of the day will be in the following order: I thought you said ................. This is a mans breakfast if it were bigger............ I sense a burger bar close by............... Wrong chokes........... Feel the force.............. Wheres the red boot brigade............... I have new cartridges they are called Claymores with instructions on them ----place this side towards the enemy Anybody bet against them Brian Looking forward to a GOOD DAY but not the scores (thinking positively)
Mungler
Okay, I have an hour set aside tomorrow to make a nuisance of myself in Essex Gun. Does anyone need anything - leaving aside midichlorians, the force, a big bag of skill / luck / talent etc... because I have already phoned ahead and they have sold out. As above - what's everyone planning on using cartridge wise? Go on fess up, everyones blowing the dust off their good stuff - no D&Gs or Sporters on this outing

I did start using 9's for close in birds but have gone back to 8's all the time. I will be using Express World Cup throughout as these are my new favourite after Pro Comp went downhill. Suffolk shooter
I will be using my usual Eley Olympic Blue's in 7's or 7.5's dependant on what they have when I go to the shop tomorrow. Might stick a few 9's in for closer birds, but otherwise if it ain't broke don't fix it. pin
Express pro-***** HV's in 7 1/2 Plus a selection of esoteric skeet shells, some 6's in 30 and 32g for any long rabbits.

Catamong
Well guys, some more hot news following my earlier post, I've been told that Diggy fell out of of bed on the second layout, failed to shoot another 97,...........................but for good measure posted a 96.. :yp: ..!! Can you believe it.. So you all know what you've got to beat, just post a 194 or better and you've won it, it's as easy as that..!! I've got a funny feeling that all of us mortal PW Forum members, (including perhaps me..??), will realise after the first 4 stands that the big guy can rest easy with a score like that..?? Cat. MC
Well Cat, What a defeatist attitude, 193 can and might well be beaten. If GD has hit nearly all of them then it is possible to hit them all. I know it is unlikely to happen but it could. It is a bit like the grand prix drivers that used to pull over when Schumacher came up behind them, stuff that you at least give hime a hard time. Mungler
However, in all probability we are each going to step up and probably miss at least 7 of the first 30 birds and that will be that! I am just intruiged to see and shoot the course. Am looking forward to breakie tomorrow - first dirty breakfast I would have had in a long while. Martin, I didn't wish to sound defeatist, don't forget I've shot the Essex Masters every year since it started and believe me, it ain't an easy layout, and to turn in a double score like that is truly awesome. Digweed is simply in a different league to virtually every other clay shooter in the World. I've beaten him in the past, and no doubt I will again, but that's been when he's been off form, which he certainly isn't at the moment. I reckon there's only one person that could beat that, and that's Faulds, but I'm not sure that he will this time. Cat.

I'll state right here and now, that I won't be coming last and I certainly won't be throwing any of my guns in the lake. I have a good feeling about tomorrow, I won't win it, but I think I may surprise a few people. I have analysed my faults andnow where there are, so its up to me to do something about it, and we'll see what happens.
