Scully
I have three sticks. One which is long enough with a forked antler atop to use as a mono-pod when stalking, but a mite too long for beating; another with a curled black horn atop which goes driven/rough shooting with me and is ideal for thrashing through briers etc, and another which was given to me by the widow of one of my Dads best friends after being a bearer at his funeral, which is used but not abused. I like a good stick. I also have a shed roof from which hangs countless Hazel sticks, well seasoned by now which I collected over the years in enthusiasm for stick making. Up to now I have made exactly....none. The white tape at wellie height is genius. May put some on mates stick, but just under.
wymberley
I have a white tape on mine at top of welly height. Great when wading so you don't get over your welly tops. With the proofing/tumble drier that makes two cracking ideas in one day - any chance of a hat trick?

Aled
Yep love a forked stick, mine used as rifle rest, wading stick, beating etc. I've got 1 drying out in the garage as we speak, and i'm keeping my eyes open for another! Thats what Sunday wwalkis are good for. Cheers Aled
Grandalf
My only use on Sunday stick was given to me by the members when I stood down as Chairman of our local Legion Branch. Foxes head plus RBL badge on the shaft. Wouldn't dare take it on the marsh.
